You know it's Fall when..

Fall: the greatest season of them all. With Halloween set aside, I wait 365 days each year, with joyful anticipation, for this season to approach. Of course, it always seems to be the shortest season- but by far the best. You know it's Fall when you wake up in the morning, pulling the covers over your body because it's still dark outside, and your body is chilled from just hearing the rain. You know it's Fall when you get to dig out your boots you've been waiting 6 months to finally wear, and of course we all love walking out side in the drizzling rain while hiding under the hoods of our sweaters. You know it's Fall when all you want to do after school or work is to come home and immediately change into sweats, build a fire (a gas fire usually does the trick) and cuddle with your significant other.

You know it's Fall when every tree has at least 3 different colors of leaves on it. This year, one of Nana's desires was to drive around town and pick out all of the unique looking trees as the leaves change. We probably drove around for hours, snapping picture after picture like we were two little girls on Christmas morning. I always love spending time with my Nana, she always opens my eyes to new beautiful things in this life.

You know it's Fall when, for the first time in my life, I want to COOK. I don't think I have ever been so domestic in my life- unless you call cleaning up after myself in the lobby of Del Taco D O M E S T I C. In the last couple of weeks, I have cooked gourmet pasta meals- for myself I might add. Of course, I had left over Martinelli's from a prior occasion,to celebrate! I also have been cooking different kinds of soups and chili's- perfect for the season. Recently, we had a family pumpkin carving party (don't worry, I stopped carving after my FIRST attempt) and I helped cook the most amazing taco soup ever! Thanks Carly and Cam ;) How could I forget- the spectacular, toothsome caramel apples. During the last Jazz pre-season game, my boyfriend C, Kales, Davie boy and I decided to make homemade caramel apples, AKA- a little taste of Heaven. We covered the juicy, sour granny apples with soft caramel, melted white chocolate and dipped them to death. We had all kinds of toppings: butterfingers, score bars, Cinnamon sugar, sprinkles and more. The best part was, they tasted just as good as they looked! Just call me RMCF (Rocky Mtn Chocolate Factory.)

Good stuff.

Life is beautiful, in every season.. but it is ESPECIALLY beautiful in the fall, at least to me. I'm trying to take in every moment I have, before the snow takes over.

Despite the fact that the Jazz have lost their 2 first games of the season, La vita e bella.

All Hallows Eve

Well, as it has always been said, Halloween is an "annual holiday observed on October 31, primarily in the US, Canada, Ireland and the UK. It has the roots in the Celtic festival of Samhain and the Christian holiday All Saint's Day...." OK, let's be honest, we're all bored at this point. All I know, is that Halloween is my FAVORITE holiday! It has been for years, and it is sneaking up on us so soon. It is ironic, because I get scared SO easily, and freak my self out from the littlest things. However, I thrive off of the adrenaline rush at a haunted house, or going to a scary movie, or filling my home with creepy and sensor-attack decorations. This year, I wanted to make the MOST out of this Halloween, so I decided to do all that I could to fulfill that desire.

I went to the scariest haunted houses in Utah, and let me tell you, I definitely didn't sleep alone that night- thank heavens Nana lives right down the street, right? It's great having a boyfriend during this holiday, of course, to comfort my every scare! We got a bunch of people together and went and saw THEE scariest movie ever made, the best part was the big, dark skinned, "tough" if you will, boys behind us, screaming like little girls!

If I may add, this year was the first year I officially carved a pumpkin! Yes, you should be very proud of me. Of course, mine, out of the 4 of us who carved, was the COOLEST (or, as most would call it, the special needs pumpkin.) But hey, I'll get to the point where I can carve a cool ninja turtle one day!

I've gotten so into the Halloween spirit, that I have filled the house with decorations, candy and hand carved pumpkins! How much better does it get? I guess we will see when All Hallows Eve comes this Saturday, and my Barbie and Ken costume rocks the day.

Happy Halloween! and don't forget, la vita e bella.
